Influenced by the thick, painterly strokes of Van Gogh and Renoir, the romance of Sargent, and the mystery of Modigliani, my work aims to capture moments where people and animals connect, and where architecture holds memory.
Working from still photography or en plein air, I use canvas, acrylic and oils to summon the viewer to consider the magic of the mundane.
When my fingers, hands and elbows are immersed in clay, the Pacha Mama comes to life in large and small vessels, holding sacred the spirit of my mother and the divine abundance of the natural world.
